Kenji Hiramoto

Kenji Hiramoto is a digital transformation leader specializing in national data strategy, IT governance, and AI safety. He currently serves as Director General of the Digital Infrastructure Center at Japan’s IT Promotion Agency (IPA) and Deputy Executive Director of the AI Safety Institute (AISI).

With extensive leadership across government, consulting, academia, and IT sectors, Hiramoto drives digital policy and public infrastructure modernization. Key achievements include founding Japan’s AI Safety Institute, establishing the Government Interoperability Framework, and delivering national public-service databases.
