Michael Shaw

Mike Shaw is a Senior Vice President of Engineering for Data & AI at Dow Jones. A physicist by training, Mike built his career through analytics and data science into platform and AI leadership. He ran data teams at Meta, Instacart, and Google, an experience that shaped his bias for measurable outcomes over demonstrations. He now applies that operating model at Dow Jones, known for flagship B2C and B2B brands including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, MarketWatch, Dow Jones Factiva, Newswires, and Energy. His teams focus on customer-facing search and personalization, data-informed decision-making, and production GenAI features that move the needle for customers and revenue. Mike is passionate about making AI useful, governable, and economically meaningful in real products.
